A Global Commitment to Green Growth
A major milestone in global climate dialogue unfolded as the International Seminar on Climate Change Adaptation and Energy Transition concluded in Hangzhou, China, with renewed calls for international cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and green innovation. The two-week programme brought together 25 officials and experts from seven Belt and Road countries, including Nigeria, Chile, Cuba, Grenada, Indonesia, Tunisia, and Uzbekistan.
Hosted by the Hangzhou Regional Center (Asia-Pacific) for Small Hydro Power (HRC) and sponsored by China's Ministry of Commerce, the seminar served as a powerful platform to explore clean energy innovation, low-carbon policy, and real-world technologies driving energy access in developing nations.

Through in-depth lectures, live case studies, and expert visits, participants studied:
- Multi-energy complementary systems
- Clean energy and rural electrification strategies
- Water resource and hydropower management
- Policy integration for sustainable development
Study tours included the Laoshikan and Fushi Hydropower Stations, showcasing China's green construction achievements, and visits to the NARI Group Corporation for a first-hand look at next-gen renewable energy systems and hydraulic simulations.

A Nigerian participant described the seminar as “timely and enriching,“ acknowledging China and HRC for their technical leadership in climate adaptation and energy capacity building. She expressed confidence that Nigeria's SEAP efforts can benefit from this shared global wisdom.
